Meet the Physicians of SmartClinic Urgent Care
David Chen, MD
After finishing residency and serving on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Academy of Family Practice, Dr. Chen returned to California to be near family. With experience as a private family practitioner, an emergency and an urgent care physician, Dr. Chen realized he enjoyed urgent care work the most, due to the potential for developing doctor/patient relationships with community members and the variety of medical issues to be addressed on any given day. He has 6 years of experience working in the urgent care field and was Assistant Medical Director in his most recent urgent care setting.
Dr. Chen and his wife have one daughter who is proving to be as inquisitive as her father. When not at work or studying for his MBA, Dr. Chen enjoys family time, tennis and swimming. His philosophy is to stay balanced in life or at least as much as possible.
Andy Hsu, MD
Dr. Hsu was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He spent his childhood in different areas of the United States and attended college and medical school at Brown University in Rhode Island. After undergoing training as an emergency medicine physician at Northwestern University in downtown Chicago, Dr. Hsu relocated to sunny Southern California, working as an emergency physician at Arcadia Methodist Hospital and Garfield Medical Center.
When not at work, Andy can be found exploring beautiful outdoor California, enjoying musical festivals and events and relaxing with his family.

Dr. Leung was born and raised in Michigan. After completing medical school at Boston University, he then trained in emergency medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. After his time at Yale University as an assistant professor, Dr. Leung went west to California and became the Emergency Department Medical Director at Garfield Medical Center.
